My daughter had a figure skating competition today and so I had her stay in her outfit until we got home to take some pics with my new studio gear. I used my 40D and 24-105L. Genesis 200 (setting 60) into umbrella 45 degrees above and angled to subject camera left. Genesis 200 into umbrella (setting 40) angled towards background camera right. SS 1/60, f8, ISO 100. Couple things I noticed:

The white paper gets dirty where we step and I'm not very good at cloning yet so I'll have to get better.

I blew out the flowers in her hair so I'll try and pay more attention to that next time (I actually think I over processed them in CS4)

Since I was using seamless paper I had to have her keep her skate guards on so if anyone has any suggestions on that I would appreciate it. I was thinking of just getting her some white guards for white backgrounds and black ones for black to make them not stick out so much. I forgot to clone out the spot on her left foot where you can see a hole in her nylon (just noticed it while typing).

This is my first so I'm definitely looking for some feedback. Here's the shot:

Great picture, think the pose is a little "rude boy" for a skating princess :)

Yeah, we tried the whole stand there and look pretty thing at first and it just didn't capture her personality very well (she loves to pose), so I told her to just have fun and do whatever she felt like. This was the only one from the series I've had a chance to process so far. Don't let her fool you Carerra, she's all princess :).

I love the contrast between the attitude and the "skating princess" outfit. It's cute. Great job.
