I am looking to buy a 5D Mark II and have it delivered to me in Switzerland. Buying from BHPhoto and shipping would cost me about 400-600 USD less than buying online in Switzerland.

However, BHPhoto has a back order and no clear delivery dates for the 5D. Is there another online wholesalers in the US that is recommended and ships to Europe?

I, and many others would vouch for Mifsuds in the UK. They have stock, they are a Pro Canon Dealership, and are experienced in mail order. At least give them a try.

MIFsuds.com is about 300 more expensive than the sites in switzerland. I guess if the US has no stock, the Swiss market is second cheapest. The UK seems to have very high camera prices. The online shops in the UK are nearly the same price as a brick and mortar store in Switzerland

Mifsuds have shop as well. Its small and welcoming, and a great place to visit as it is located in a small fishing village in South West England.

Just checked price :
B&H $2695 in US. is £1897.
Mifsud is £2089
Difference is £192.
However, I think you are entitled to get the 15% VAT back. That would easily make the deal equal.
Other difference is that they have stock!

The point about the UK being expensive is more to do with Canon's pricing strategy rather than exchange rate. Dealers make a very small margin on Canon sales in the UK. Canon (among others) price the same goods higher here than in the US. The recently announced new body is a good example.

Take a look at this..

The other point to note is that many Canon (and Nikon) prices were increased by between 20 and 30% in January. That added $300 to the US price at B&H

how did you end up with 600 difference? 2695 means 3075 chf, and when you add the shipping and the 7%VAT....
you have two options: digitec.ch with 2978chf, but it takes about 3 weeks to get it, or from swiss-promis.ch with 3250 available in stock, i took the last option as i didnt want to wait
due to the us economy and volatile fx market its the first time ain't worth it anymore buying from us

cheers,
dorin
