I really like the composition. Very intriguing creature (what type of turtle is it?). One thing -- it looks like you have a slight front-focus going on (look at the shell), so the head/eye is little oof. Try and use the center point if possible for focus and go for the eye. Just to nitpick, metering for the head would also be nice to see a little more of this little guy's face. Otherwise, fantastic shot! Just curious, what lens did you use?

i am using Canon 40D with EF-S 18-55 IS for this shot... :)
