FD to EF?

I know this has been done a lot before, I've read some of the threads.

My question is - would IQ be good enough to warrant getting the kit?

I can get the FD 85 f/1.2L, 200mm f/2.8, 14L and more, very cheaply. I was wondering if I could use it or if anyone on here could make use of it?

remember that you lose 1 full stop of light (and DOF) because of the FD/EF Adaptor which is essentially a 1.25x (or 1.3x depending on who you ask) Teleconverter.

85mm f/1.2L becomes 110.5mm f/1.7... not really worth it. Also IQ in terms of sharpness and contrast will be affected adversely... it really isn't worth it.

What about on something like a 400mm F5.6 FD prime?

it becomes a 520mm f/8... whats the point of that? And the IQ (sharpness and contrast and color rendition) gets shot to ****. Even the L's get hurt, the consumer grade lenses really aren't worth it.
