I purchased my nifty fifty a while ago and while sharp didn't suit my type of photography until I had my newborn. For indoor shooting this is the only lens that I've used and when paired with a 550ex flash has been a pretty fun combination. I mostly shoot outdoors/sports/landscapes so indoor photography was completely new.

I've been itching for a Canon 17-55mm lens but maybe when he gets older and starts moving a zoom might be more convenient. Seeing how he isn't walking yet it's pretty easy to shift a few steps forward/backward.

Any feedback on the pics would be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations on your new little boy. He's gorgeous. I really love the second pic best. The first seems a little dark to me.
