just wanted to share. didn't do a great job on it. i don't see how people can photoshop with a trackpad...
edit: more like 1:100 scale..

As I understand it's just a matter of adding Gaussian blur on PS feathered heavily towards the fore/background to achieve the impression of shallow depth of field like when you have the subject within the hyperfocal distance (kinda trial and error here) and then bump up the saturation to achieve brighter colors such as those in a scale model. I guess it also involves enhancing contrast and sharpness to an almost over-done point. Mar 31, 2009 12:33 | #6 basically, it's 2 gradients in quick mask mode (one from the top and one from the bottom), then go back to regular mode and apply the gaussian blur to the selected areas. then just adjust the mask so that you don't blur elements of the photo that should be in the same DOF range (such as the NY NY structure). 40D | 50mm 1.8 | 24-105L |17-55 2.8 | 430EX | vivitar 285hv | CyberSync
