I was thinking about getting another dslr. I sold my xti a year ago, and I want to get back with a dslr, but dont want to spend too much. A friend is selling a bnib xs kit w/lens. I was reading on the xs but unless I read wrong it is more of a downgrade from the xti. Should I get the XS or just get another Xti.

What is your target price? The XS though cheaper than the XTi isn't all that different from it.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

well, two of my friends are selling their cameras. One has an Xti with less than 100 clicks and the other one is selling the xs. The prices are not that different. I just dont know which one I should get.

Price would be my deciding factor when choosing between the two.

I would definitely prefer to have the XTi of the 2 you mentioned. The feature set on the XTi is better (particularly AF), as is the sensor IMHO.

The kit lens for the XS (assuming it's the 18-55 IS) is much better than the old kit lens that came with the XTi.

I don't like digital rebels. To be completely honest, Id much rather have a Pentax K10D or K100D, or a Canon 20D or 30D.
