Hey guys, well today I looked outside as the chicken was on the grill and noticed a moon! I have been wanting to try to shoot the moon for a while but tonight it was super clear. So I ran, grabbed my camera, went out to the center of my backyard, and shot away.. Here is my results:

My longest lens is my 55-250mm so sorry for it being so far away, I did what I could! C&C welcome and greatly appreciated! Thanks

I shoot the moon with that lens all the time! Looks a wee bit blown out. If you shot it in RAW, try playing with the brightness and contrast to bring out more detail.

all of these were shot hand held with the 55-250 on my XS

Keep at it, its fun and pretty easy to try new things with the moon!

They changed a little based on the phase because of the amount of light coming from the moon. They were all shot in manual at iso100.
in order, left to right the other settings were
f/6.3 1/50
f/8 1/25
f/8 1/60
f/11 1/40
f/11 1/40
f/11 1/60
f/11 1/40
f/11 1/50

for most of them I varied the shutter speed over several shots and then picked the best once on the computer. Al of them have some adjustments in DPP (I shoot raw)
