I don't normally like the tilted look, but these work for me. I love them together. Mount them that way.

I like the tilt of the second photo, but I find the first maybe a tad too far.

Might have chosen to focus on g'ma in the second pic because your son's back was to you possibly leading to a much more meaningful photo later in life.
