Great Shots.

It looks like there is another fly on the underside of the leaf in the first shot. Well there is a wing for sure.

Also love the gold plated fly!

Good start, better than my first efforts. comments:

1) awkward composition. Try and have (as a general rule) the insect/arachnid facing in the direction where there's free space for it to look into.

2) lighting is a bit harsh

3) facial area is a bit too dark, hiding some details.

#2

1) from the top down pose is not the most thrilling of poses, try getting lower and from a 3/4 angle

2) lighting is a bit harsh

3) soft focus - critical to keep the eyes sharp imho, they are soft in this image

4) looks like you tried to over sharpen the image to compensate for point 3) above

Other than that, you're off to a very good start. Macro takes a long while to get really good at (I'm still waiting).

i like these images quite a bit. I might want to crop 1 pic down to just one full leave, half of the bottom leave, the fly and the water drop.

number 2 cropping is great, maybe add some soft shadows in some areas to soften the highlights a bit.

Great work, Dr. Diesel.

Thanks, hhuy888. The droplet is actually another bugs wing.
