is it just me or is B&H slowly raising their prices
i was comparing a bunch of things from previous prices

for example...the pelican 1514

it used to be about $154 a couple months ago
now its $167

and for some strange reason..shipping prices via USPS increased too...just yesterday!
i noticed a $4 increase on USPS Priority shipping

whats the deal...

I would think prices would stay the same or go down in a downturn due to less demand for the products.

Unless the downturn was really bad, and almost all discretionary spending ceased--like the current one, to an extent. Then prices increase so that businesses can increase their profit margins on the people that are essentially required to purchase their products (i.e. photographers needing to upgrade).

the Yen/dollar exchange rate would be the biggst influence in this type of glabablly impacted economy.

As already stated the devalued Yen along with other major currencies is the cause for the price increase along with S&H etc.
