I like to photograph NRL (rugby league) games in Manly, Sydney Australia. This was my first run with an SLR with my new 350D, lens was 55-200 usm II.

Please excuse the watermarks.

Good images. Technically very good considering the lens & first run.
Last 2 are truly action shots.
1st could've been better with fill flash (?)

Thanks. Yeah silly me forgot to use the flash considering the sun was behind there backs.

But maybe the inbuilt flash wouldnt of done the job? I was about 4 metres away and the sun was very bright.

I'll have to get myself some serious bucks as well.

Is it safe enough buying a used L lense?
is it as simple as checking them out when you try out?
Are ther hidden pit falls to know about?
