This is a steal of a deal. Only $5/pk. Wow! Last week, bought 4 packs from amazon for $15/pk, so this is a crazy deal. They are similar to Eneloops (already charged when you get them and remain charged at 85% over a 1 year period).

UPDATE: Deal expired.

I have the Lacrosse BC-900 charger and it works like a charm: http://www.amazon.com …_c?tag=camelcamelcamel-20 (external link)

I would recommend the BC-700, currently at a great price ($25) http://www.amazon.com …cm_cr_pr_product_top?tag= (external link)

Even though my order went through at the time, I just got an email (3 days later) that they are on back order. I hate that!!!

Thank you for your recent order for the Sony Batteries. We're sorry to
inform you that due to the overwhelming response to this posting we
ran out of these batteries. We did reorder them but it will take abou
t two weeks till we will get in from Sony. As soon as we get them in w
e will deliver them to our customers.

At this time we would like to advise you that the price we had for the
se batteries was an error and it is way below our cost. The correct pr
ice for the batteries is $16.95. However since the wrong price was pub
lished on our web site we are honoring the price for reasonable quanti
ties.

Steve,

I just got the exact same email. I wonder if that means that they will ship them to us when they are back in stock, at the $5/4 price? And I don't care what they say, and I don't care if I order 1000 sets, price was $5/set on the website, it took my order (and my paypal payment), they better damn well send them out at that price.

And who the hell ok's the web ads (and associated pricing)? That's pretty much on them if they screwed it up.

What really sucks, is that ordered additional items along with the batteries. I wonder if they're going to hold the entire shipment until the batteries come in?

Mine showed up on Saturday. They actually sent the other stuff ahead of time, so they paid for double shipping.

If you have a Harbor Freight Tools store near you, they have 4 packs of 2000mAh NiMH AA batteries for $4.99 and four packs of 2200mAh AA's for $6.99. I just picked up a couple packs but have not used them yet so can't say how long they'll last. They have other battery sizes and capacities too as well as Ni-Cad versions.

Not all rechargeables are the same.

I will never buy non slow-discharge rechargeables again. Eneloops and the like are SO much better.
