I decided to make a light tent like the one seen on the DIY photography site. Last night I wrapped it in a white sheet and put my bristol board inside as a background. I did a few test shots and am happy with the results but know there is room for a lot of improvement. It was getting late and I had it on the floor with the only light being the ceiling light in the kitchen and most of them I shot at ISO 1600 so they have a lot of noise to them. I have a few other lights that I will use to light it up properly but that will be my weekend project and will hopefully make the background whiter.

I noticed that in the glass I can see the sides of the box reflected so I will cover them in white this weekend which should help. But how do I get it so I don't see the box opening reflected? Should it be mostly covered with white with only enough for my lens to fit through?

What are the best shooting conditions? Would it be better to shoot in a dark place with my lights set up shining through the sides of the box? Or is it better to be in a bright area?

Here are a few test shots:

To keep the box opening from showing, you'll have to cover it in white as well, jes leave a space large enough to poke the front of your lens into it.
