Not sure what I have going on here. I am getting purple reflections in allot of my shots in bright sun. It's usually in the water droplets or in the reflections in a birds eye but in the last pic below it shows up around the edges of the overexposed areas of this hooded merg. I suppose this one is CA for sure ?
The lens is a 300 f/4 non-is. The second two pics were taken with a 1.4X and the first was bare 300.

It's PF (Purple Fringing) in the first two wrt the water droplets, which technically is not proper CA, and I don't know yet what happened in the last pic. That looks like a combination of PF and CA to me, which is rather hard to tell.

Looking at the second pic again, I can see, apart from the PF, some traces of CA there too, longitudinal CAs (dark red traces in the OOF areas in front, greenish in the OOF area towards the back), so I guess what I am seeing in pic 3 is indeed as I thought, a combination of PF and CA. Looking at 200 % this is what seems to be the case indeed.

Anyway, the strongest purple and violet fringes, those that encircle more or less the entire overexposed areas, is PF.

Kind regards, Wim
