Which pic was taken with which lens? (no p-p)
Both ISO 800, tripod mounted. One is the 70-200 f/2.8, and the other is 55-200 II. Taken within a couple of minutes of each other. Cropped to 100%.

Apr 05, 2009 00:24 | #6 If the photo were exposed such that the surface detail was visible (vs blown out), there would likely be a much bigger visible difference between the two lenses. Try this, stop them both down to F13, shoot manual at ISO 100 or 200 and try shutter speeds between 1/60 - 1/200. Gear List

BillBoehme Enjoy being spanked More info | In addition to the above suggestions, do not use ISO 800 -- use ISO 100. The images are severely overexposed. I suggest using f/8 and an exposure time between 1/50 second for a new moon to 1/ 400 second for a full moon. Atmospheric haze in images? Click for Tutorial to Reduce Atmospheric Haze with Photoshop.
