Which pic was taken with which lens? (no p-p)

Both ISO 800, tripod mounted. One is the 70-200 f/2.8, and the other is 55-200 II. Taken within a couple of minutes of each other. Cropped to 100%.

I'd say 55-200 on the left, and 70-200 on the right.

I'm going to say 70-200 is first.

Photography is about GEAR and not talent or practice. Practice won't make you a better photographer. Expensive equipment will. =D

If the photo were exposed such that the surface detail was visible (vs blown out), there would likely be a much bigger visible difference between the two lenses. Try this, stop them both down to F13, shoot manual at ISO 100 or 200 and try shutter speeds between 1/60 - 1/200.
Then let's post this same test again, and the differences will be obvious.

OK, OK... 55-200 was the first one.

I'll try and get some more shots at some point and we'll see it again. This was my first lens comparison - hopefully soon I'll be able to compare them a bit better!

In addition to the above suggestions, do not use ISO 800 -- use ISO 100. The images are severely overexposed. I suggest using f/8 and an exposure time between 1/50 second for a new moon to 1/ 400 second for a full moon.
