Stopped by the Memphis Zoo the other day after a meeting for a little bit and here are a few of the pictures I got. Thanks for Looking!

Was the panda just visiting? I think the Chinese folk are strictly controlling the captive population these days, to give the species the best chance to survive...

They are on lease from China.

In April 2003, the Memphis Zoo became one of only four U.S. zoos to exhibit the giant panda.

If I recall correctly they are on a 10 year lease at $1 million a year.

the giraffe and panda are awesome. Pity about the shadow on the orangutans.

I especially like number 2 - the critter really looks like he is staring right into the lens. Great pics!
