One image, 3 exposures extracted from ACR, HDR in Photomatix.
Some selective dodging and burning to accentuate the lights and darks.

This is my first HDR. I wish the stairs didn't looked so halo'd

doesn't look at all like an HDR to me

That's a very cool shot - I really like it. It doesn't appear to have a lot of dynamic range though. This is the kind of shot that could look even better in B&W. Nice shot.

+/- 2 stops.

The original showed barely any detail in the colums. I definitely need to expose better for HDR.

I'd almost like this image better with a split toning effect, would yield it a more vintage look imo.
