Anyone else experiencing bugs with CS4?

Everytime I use hotkeys, it flips around, and goes back and forth between tools. As well as the drop down menu dropping sparatically.
I can tap "V" a million times sometimes and it wont select the cursor, so I have to do it manually.
Just little things like that.
Not to mention the horrific brush engine, that slows and freezes when you first start brushing about 30 minutes after photoshop is open, which makes me close photoshop and have to re-open it to continue to work on the image.

Just frustrating suppose.
Hoping they come out with fixes soon.

I've never had an issue with it but they did release a patch a couple of months ago that should have fixed most things for most people. Have you run the online updater? 11.0.1 is the latest build.

Yeah, thats the version I have.
And I usually run the updater every few days to check for updates.
Maybe I should try reinstalling it...

Bugs galore in CS4. My favorite tool doesn't work properly and requires a workaround. Of course Adobe will again blame Windows for their failings as per usual.

No, if you check the Adobe forum they are mostly blaming the video card drivers. The first suggestion has been to update the drivers, and when that doesn't work, to contact the video card company.

I downloaded CS4 and after updating the video drivers it was better but still so painfully buggy and slow that I went back to CS3.

I have the latest driver for my video card (released jan, 19th, 2009).
But, I am using the built-in one. Which still boasts 400mb of memory.
Planning on upgrading it this month though.

Its so much easier to point fingers at everything else.
Its windows fault...its the video card, go buy a new one...etc...etc.

The vid card acceleration always craps out on me, so I would tend to agree that CS4 has trouble with video drivers quite often. (I am totally updated btw.)

it doesn't select it, or does it go back to what tool you were using before?
The last is new: If you press and hold V (or whatever shortcut) it'll temporarily select the tool. ;)

I think they call it magnetic shortcuts or so?

Edit: No big bugs that I've noticed on OSX (apart from loosing the color settings twice that is)

Both.
Sometimes it just won't select it at all.
Other times it switches back and forth between the tools I am using (Brush...Clone Stamp...Brush...Clone Stamp...etc). Which is extremely annoying. I hope this is a bug, and not a "feature".

Try resetting your preferences....I use CS4 extensively and I haven't noticed any bugs yet.

Might be possible.
I created a few shortcuts myself (like 'flatten').
I'll give it a shot, and hope it helps.

I never had any problems with CS2.
Always a fast workflow.
