Does the auto ISO on the 50D bypass your custom functions settings...?
I have it set so ISOs are every 1-stop, but when I switch it over to auto, it picks whatever it wants (i.e. ISO 500).
I'd prefer it to only shoot at 100, 200, 400, 800, etc...

Any suggestions?
Or is this just how it is?

Mine does the same thing. I think it's just the way it is.

I just tried it at it seems that it does.

I set the camera to P, AV, TV with Auto ISO and with 1-stop increments for the ISO set in the custom functions and it used intermediate stops when half pressing the shutter button. There's a runon sentence for ya.

Hopefully Canon will fix this in a firmware. I mean, I am sure its not a bug, it is probably meant to be like that. But if we select in the custom functions to not do it when you manually select the ISO, it shouldn't do on auto either.
I've read that anything BUT 100, 200, 400, 800, etc... is just the camera doing the processing to make it 250 or 500 or whatever. Something of that sort...which is suppose to cause more noise than using the normal ISO increments.
