What is this lens? I see some old posts in here about it and the asking price is over $3000. There's a guy selling it for $900 cash, and all seem legit too. Sounds like a killer lens to have. Is it?

For $900? There's got to be a catch. There's an EX+ one on KEH for nearer $5000

I'd sprint down to test it out. You could resell it for over $3000 in a heartbeat. They are very rare and, well, how many 1.0 lenses do you see.

here's (external link) what the last one went for on ebay, so there would have to be a catch or some extreme ignorance going on.

Wow! Well lets see if I can get the guy to meet me. If it works, I'll take it.

What!? Definitely see it in person...if all is well, immediately post in the "best lens deal you've ever got" thread.

Make sure you meet up with the guy in a safe public place and, if possible, bring a friend with you.

Exactly what I was thinking... Not only would you be bring your camera to test it out, but the cash and your other personal valuables. Safety before a great deal!

Someone may not know what the value of the lens is. To be honest, if I saw it at a garage sale I would of never knew it was worth $3k until I looked on here, and walked away at $900.

Nikon D300 and other non canon stuff, I just like this place. MOOOHAHAHAHA :p
