I recently converted to mac and have since found that some of my favourite photoshop plugins won't run on a mac (at least not without having to run windows on my Imac also - which i'm trying to avoid) but my favourite plugin of all time is the Metacreations KPT6
'Equalizer' that I used for doing most of the dodge and burning to create better lines and contours on the model without having spend hours using the specific 'dodge' & 'burn' tools myself. I also used a Glamour diffusion brush action that apparently I can't use on the Mac version of photoshop and this got me to thinking, surely other photographers that run photoshop on an Imac operating system must have their own versions of these types of plug-ins and I was wondering what they were.

I was also wondering, where the hell am I supposed to put the .8bf files in the photoshop plugin directory... i could find them on my PC but have no idea where to put them on my mac :(

I'll be searching for tools to do what the old plugins did for me and I'll keep you updated on what I find.

Looking forward to hearing what you guys use :)
Cyrus

48 views and not one reply, i gotta say I'm not really surprised, it's one of those 'secretive' areas of photography... kind of like asking a photographer for his favourite hidden shooting location lol

oh well maybe somebody will be interested in this post ;)

On OSX, PS plugins are located in Applications > PSCS4 > Plug-ins.
They have .plugin as extention. (at least on my system, might be different for third party plug ins?)

I actually had to Google .8bf file

Most of the guys here are most likely PC and not Mac users, no point in adding a responce if you don't know of one.

thanks guys I found where to put the plugin and it works ok but now I'm not able to use the plugin without the 'demo' restrictions. I recall that when i purchased it on my PC version they actually modified the .8bf file and i had to replace the old demo one with the new unlimited file... i can't figure out if that's how it works o the mac or if I have to buy another version of the software to get it to run on my mac.

Since you've bought it, why not contact their support?
