Actually, I was referring to computer storage. Those 25Mb RAW+Large files fill a hard drive fast

.
In my opinion, saving storage is not the main purpose of SRAW1 or SRAW2. The full RAW file is about 20.2Mbytes. SRAW1 is about 12.6 Mbytes and SRAW2 is about 9.2 Mbytes, so not much is gained in hard disk space (as much as what you lose in resolution, that is 7.1Mp in SRAW1 and 3.8Mp in SRAW2). Additionally, disk space today is quite cheap. A 320 Gbytes 2.5" external drive is less than $90 and will hold over 15000 RAW files (I store three copies of every RAW file, in three different hard disks, just to be sure). A 1Tbyte hard disk is less than $120 and will hold almost 50000 RAW files.
