Similar to the Circuit City thread, i'd love to see what deals people out there are getting and from what stores.

See the info thread here which includes link for store closing list:

Just popped in to the store in the BIG KOP Mall this morning. They are not closing, but they did have some great "deals"

430EXII - $350
70-200mm f/2.8 NON-IS - $1399

I wonder why they're all closing? ;)

I was HOPING they were (1)Closing and (2)Had a great deal on a 430EXII since I'm looking for a backup flash...

I did buy a 58mm UV filter to replace the one that got messed up when I dropped my 85mm this weekend :(

I prefer "The Camera Shop" in Bryn Mawr but I didn't have time to drive down there and wanted a filter TODAY so I can start using my 85 again....

Stopped by the one in Carle Place, NY. The liquidators have not gotten there yet. Saleslady expects them any day. Stock is very limited and looks like single piece of kits, lens', and knickknacks. Not worth a second trip.

I stopped by one here in Chicago (Wolf Camera on Broadway) and no sign of liquidation yet either. Still had quite a bit of stuff so I might have to check back in a few days.

wow,what a deal!!!

I can't imagine why I would want to buy it from anyone else, like Amazon, for the outrageous price of $1190.

I think he was making a joke. You can get that same lens from Amazon for $200 less than the Ritz GOOB price. Don't expect any deals until the liquidators get there.

That price I quoted was the NORMAL price, and that particular Ritz was NOT closing. Amazon's prices are more or less in line with Adorama/B&H/etc....

I wouldn't be suprised if they RAISE the price for the GOOB sales

I wouldn't expect much in the way of deals until some time after the liquidators get there, and they start moving some product out.

Well the smaller Ritz in the smaller KOP mall is closing, and they have everything a whopping 10% off! So that $329 430EXII (I goofed above...) will now only cost $299! What a deal!

Why they don't just "ship" everything to the other store (which is like a 5-10 minute walk), I don't know.

the only real deals will be on the crap they have left unless you are lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time.

When CC closed & it was all over this forum about the deals on the 100mm macro, I couldn't find one at any of the stores near me. I even drove to Delaware looking for a deal, just inflated prices with modest mark downs.

You can check out any time you like....,but you can never leave. 40D, 24-105 f4LIS, 70-200 f4LIS[COLOR=black],100 f2.8LIS macro, Sig 50mm f1.4 , Sig 10-20 , 580EXll ,430EX, ST-E2, S2IS
