glenphoto, I went to the same Ritz on Friday with a friend and he got the XTI kit. I agree though what you say about the staff. First they said that all they had was the floor model after checking in the back room. Then he was asking about another camera, they went to check and then came back and said all they have is the XTI kit in the back..... lol, which is what he had asked for initially.

I stopped by and asked about the 17-55 f2.8 at two different stores and they didn't have it in stock. The employees from both stores told me to buy from B&H since they have the higher end stuff and that all of the employees (at those two shops anyway) shop there for better price and selection. I thought that was pretty sad the first time I heard it, but hearing it twice... No wonder they are going OOB.

I just happened to be looking for a smaller bag to go with my backpack, and with their 30% off on bags, I picked up the Tamrac Adventure 4 for $34. I was pleased with the deal.

Is this with a kit lens? I went by the weekend before last and everything in the case was 10% off only. Does anyone know when the last weekend might be?

hm...I was going to tell you to grab the kit from bhphoto for 649.99 + ship to avoid tax but I just checked and the price is up to 699.99 at bh now. Haha...now I don't feel as much of a sucker when I picked mine up at Office Depot at one of their closing stores for 639.99 thinking that it was a good deal. The Chicago tax raped me though.

I need to stay out of the buy/sell forum. It's burning a hole in the wallet...

my local store had a new 30D body for $449 and a 580EX II for $279 (I almost bought it but quickly realized the rotating head was separated from the flash body .... !)

the one near me is closing. I went in a few days before and tried the canon 10-22 (marked at $849) and the Sigma ($449). i went back once I heard the radio ad saying the store was closing, and both lenses were gone. the person behind the counter said the 10-22 sold for $580. I was bummed I missed out on that.
