I've done two weddings on my own and one as a second shooter. Here is the end result of my second wedding. I'm not terribly proud of any of them but I do like the last one. After posting these I realized #5 looks a little off. The colors of the skin looks off to me.

Anyhoo...help me improve with some honest critique.

Awesome series. :)

#2 and #8 are my favourites, but they're all excellent. I'm sure the B+G will be stoked.

Ben you did a real good job with these. Just watch your hot spots on the white dresses and shirts. It is real easy for those to get blown out against darker skin or tuxes.

I really like the B&W ones!!

Can you talk more about the set up for #8? It's excellent.

Thanks for the kind words. Les, very good point. That's something I'll be working on for the next one.

Peace, #8 is underexposed a little then lit with an off camera flash. You need a midrange aperature to get the starburst look. I shot it at f/8, 1/100, ISO 100. The Sunpak 544 flash was on 3/4 power. I made several attempts and that's the only one that came out decent.

You've got a great set here. I agree that the B&W shots really stand out.

My only comment is on the bridesmaids shots - the crops a bit odd. Either go tighter or wider so as not to get half an arm.

First of all, thanks for sharing. I know you need a small aperature to get that sunburst pattern, but always assumed it needed to be much smaller than f8.

Also, I still use my SunPak 544 also; it's about 25 years old. It's a backup to my 580 EX II and I love it. I always sing its praises on this forum but you're the only other person I've heard say they also use it. It's good to know I'm not alone.

Nice set...
Like the 3 brides-maids cut together.
besides #8 .... #7 is a nice grab.

I have, and i am sure other members of POTN have seen, far worse images from weddings.
I would like to add.... one thing I like is that it is an interesting series - in a good way.

Later,
_Mark
