How come I can't seem to fire my DLite4 with my pocketwize II trigger?

I'm using a mono to mono 1/8" cable
it fires fine on optical slave.

Thanks guys!

I can't think of a reason for that not to work. Are you sure the Pocket Wizard is working properly? I believe that is the D-Lite 4 you purchased from me. I was using it prior to shipping and also, as I had mentioned before your purchased the light, it was at BogenImaging for a 'checkup' and it was sent back to me with a clean bill of health and a small capacitor replaced.

Can you check the PW on another flash? Or another trigger on the D-Lite? Are you sure the sync cord is working properly? This will help to eliminate things and pin down the problem.

First thing first - check you cable! Try another cable, try another D-Lite4 (if you have one, just in case it's the sync port), and even try another Pocket Wizard if you have one. But it's most likely a connection problem, so the cable would be my first suspect...

I'm thinking its the cable.
it's a 6' mono to mono 1/8" from radio shack. perhaps thats the reason!?

maybe I need a shorter cable?

I tried multiple PWs but only have 1 Dlite4 lol

Yeah TMR, it's your old one. It works perfectly in optical slave mode.

At the last studio/flickr meetup, a gent brought a Dlite4, and we tried PWIIs on it and used a stereo cable and it also didn't fire.
we didn't have a mono cable to try.

Is there a specific sync cord to use?

I may have been to this movie before.

Do you have the package for the cord you purchased from Radio Shack?

If so, please cite the exact product number.

Does the ad copy mention the word "attenuating".

Is this the cord?

Exactly what I was thinking, too, Lon. Those Radio Shack attenuating mono cables have been giving a lot of members here some real headaches with their remotes. :|

yeah that's probably it! lol

i paid $4.99 for it just like that.
I'll have to check when I get home.

Is there an alternate cable that I can buy from RadioShack?

How hard is it to wire in a 1/8" headphone jack if I were to cut the elinchrom wire up?

How about just ordering a ready-made one? From here:
