Received the Sigma 180mm f3.5 last week and finally had the chance/subject to shoot. Unfortunately, the $25 Best Buy tripod was not up to the low light challenge and I wasn't happy with the bounced flash results. Shake is definitely evident and I tried to sharpen it up in pp. The results aren't super sharp at full size but you can't tell as much as at medium:

Can't wait for some warmer weather to get out and shoot more!

Thanks for comments! Here are two more I just took, at 1:1 this time, skipping the tripod and placing both the camera and flower on the table. Also included is a picture of the setup -- I actually shot the original pic with the flower upside down and held in place by my earphone wire (which is braided and allowed the stem through) strung between the left monitor and the lamp. Light is mostly provided by the study lamp to the side.

Howdy Badger,
Great stuff, what us flower people have to go through to get a good shot when it's all white still. When it's spring where you are everything here will feel like it's 2 feet from hell-o-land! Your effort has paid dividends, very nice work with what you have! Thanks for sharing!
