Spent the winter trying to learn how to photograph swim in a dark swim gym...now it's out into the bright sushine with bright jersys! 
How do I keep the vivid color and tone down the brightness? Or is it OK?

Dan- Member 110 posts Joined Jun 2008 More info | Apr 10, 2009 12:10 | #4 Use M. Start with 100 ISO, 1250-1600 and f2.8. Check exposure on faces. Set your in-camera contrast down one. Shoot RAW. Also shoot from an angle that reduces the DR. You can't photograph bright sun and deep shadow without either losing shadows or blowing highlights.
