I am very sure - we were at Chester Zoo and my wife was carrying our baby daughter in a front sling - an orang-utan swung from the far corner of the enclosure and came up to the glass - she placed her hand on the glass opposite where my daughter had her hand on the glass - looking into her eyes, there was no doubt that we were looking at a very close relative.

I was once at London Zoo with a girl who was a JW, we were looking at an old Chimp sitting in a tyre who was gazing at the onlookers with sad rheumy eyes. I said to my friend, I really don't understand how you guys can dismiss evolutionary theory, just look at him and tell me you can't see a connection, I am sure he and I are not too distantly related. At that point the chimp did something quite unpleasant involving his index finger and his bum.

My relationship with the young lady did not progress much after that.
