If you plan on taking most of your pics during the daytime when there will be plenty of sunlight, then take your 24-105. The extra range will come in handy.

Sent it in for cleaning, and slapped a filter on it after that, which mitigated 98% of the dust issues. Occasionally cleaned it myself, and occasionally sent it in. After a trip to Death Valley and the Grand Canyon, there was significant dust inside (even with filter - I dread to think what it would have been like without), so just cleaned it myself.
