I have the 70-200 4L but I was looking into upgrading to the 2.8 IS.
Do you know where I could get the best deal ? this is the best I could find so far:
Amazon has it for$1,699.00
ebay for $1,525.00

What do ya think ?

B&H and Adorama have it for the same price. But imported is cheaper than US version.

I would rather buy with them over Amazon or E bay. Plus you get Free shipping.

Well.
The Amazon lens is new and has a one year Canon warranty, the other one is a used lens from an ebay seller with not warranties.

I'm not sure the difference is worth it for me. Have you checked for a used one from here, FM, and/or Craiglist?

Found a used one in Great shape on Adorama....
Includes hood and case

$1449. I would definitely get this one over the one on ebay.

As has been pointed out, why not buy from another member here on B&S or on FM B&S? Voodoo1694 is an excellent seller on both boards. I've bought all my camera gear in my gear list, from either here or FM. Excellent members to deal with, and better savings, than Adorama, B&H, KEH, or eBay. Gotta be careful with Craigslist.

Ebay also has MS cashback right now at 10%. So you can get one for around 1400 there also.

Stick with reputable dealers online ie: Amazon, Adorama, B&H and stay away from Ebay with stuff like this.. And what was said before, there are some good people here as well..

How can a comparison between shops and a portal can be useful? Ebay doesn't sell anything.

I bought one on ebay from bestpriceaudiovideo and used a paypal coupon and live cashback for a end price of 1420. They are a canon authorized dealer and have a store so the warranty should be good.

It was shipped quickly and packaged well. Overall all, I am very happy with the purchase through them.

Note: Amazon might sell it directly but a lot of Camera stuff on Amazon goes thru stores like Adorama anyways. Make sure you check where it is coming from if you order from Amazon.
