I unfortunately do not know much about RAW, but was required to shoot in that format for the following photos.

I've edited them to my liking, however...when I save the file it seems to go completely flat and lack contrast. If I open it up in Bridge or Photoshop, it is back to it's vibrant ways. I'm so confused!

These will be images uploaded onto a bands Myspace, so I'm hoping to have full shots edited, as well as resized images ready for them to upload. I just want to make sure that they are also not seeing 'flat' images when uploaded.

Help please!

This is what I need --------------- This is what I'm seeing

If you did it the way I did it before then you went to FILE > SAVE AS once you were done editing and it ended up being that way.

I found out if you go to FILE > Save for web and devices--it'll be exactly what you see on ps/windows file viewer BUT it does however erase the exif data if I'm not mistaken.

You are absolutely right, I was using "Save As". Thank you so very much, you saved my life!

QUOTED IMAGE

Is there any easier way to explain whats on your sig, because I've been reading it over and over and keep in mind I'm not a hardcore PS user.

I believe my monitor IS calibrated because I see all the 15 different colors on the bar and they do NOT blend together... So whats next? The solution to this is in your sig but it does not seem very clear to me at all :(

Also--would going to Save for web and devices option, be a much easier solution to retain the same color I see? Because I've seen my pictures on other monitors beside mine and they are as they are on my monitor when I do that.

You could read this book (external link), but it's pretty hard core, if you don't understand Rene's thread it probably won't make any sense.

The simplest solution is to have your camera, your raw converter, and your photoshop default workspace set to sRgb. ie use sRgb everywhere. It's harder to mess things up that way.

Your colorspace is set to AdobeRGB in your camera

Take it one step at a time. Use sRGB for now.

If you state it like that, I am fairly sure that your screen is not calibrated ;)

Calibrate the monitor.
Use sRGB for anything that goes on the web.
Use sRGB anyhow, until you understand color management.
The only reason to use AdobeRGB would be if you print at home (say you have an Epson R2880 or Canon iP9000)

Start off by converting the file to sRGB before saving.
Save for web can do that for you, starting in PSCS3 I believe. In PSCS2 and older, you need to do that manually.

Here's a PSCS4 "Save for web" screenshot.
The original is an AdobeRGB document.

You can change the preview of both tabs seperately by choosing another setting in the dropbox that the arrow is pointing. These are your options:

IMAGE: http://img.skitch.com/20090412-eisawsdyeg2ws4jbhpjfppufxp.jpg

From top to bottom:
Monitor Color: Image in a non color managed application on your screen.
Macintosh: Image as it might be seen in a non color managed application by someone using ancient Mac gamma 1.8. Useless IMO.
Windows: Image as it might be seen in a non color managed application by someone using an "sRGB" monitor. An sRGB image should look identical to the last option:
Use Document Profile: As seen in a color managed application.

All the circled tickboxes I circled in the "Save for Web" screenshot should be ticked.

Thanks for clearing things up, I'm looking at buying the Spyder3 calibrator.

(I actually do print at home)

Also--I'm using CS3.
