Taken in front of the window with fill flash and some light room editing.

I'm a newbie here but thought I'd offer my constructive criticism... the 2nd one is slightly overexposed as you have some "hotspots", particularly on her chest, but ever so slightly on the left side (as you look at her) of her face as well. And the first one, her chin is just slightly overexposed, bordering on a hotspot and you seem to have her nose more in focus than her eyes. Cute girl. :) Great shots that just need some slight tweaks. :)

Poses are nice, lighting isn't bad, just some tweaking (maybe the main light a tad higher ... I know, hard to do with a window - maybe a lower chair?). Touch out some of the fly-away hairs. Eyes in the second one are not sharp - I believe the eyes should always be the sharpest feature. Nice to see some nice natural, not overblown color. You are well on your way!

"High Key" is NOT overexposed, and "Low Key" is NOT underexposed.

exif is showing 1/60th of a second for shutter speed, that is very slow, hence the oof shots. You should try to keep your shutter speed above 100 unless you are on a tripod and your model is stick still. hot spots and exposure were already mentioned. good poses.

looks like you used on camera fill flash and filled the brighter side of the subject - look to get your fill off camera - and work your iso- apeture - shutter to get a faster shutter as described above - first shot is better exposed - but work on the shutter speed to reduce camera shake

Good luck

Nice subject and attempt.

Agree with the others... esp with children who move and fidget higher shutter speeds are recommended. Off camera flash will allow you to also stop movement effectively and use modifiers like simple umbrella's to further soften the light.

I think the light is the issue here for the most part. But I think there is a limitation with the lens, too. It seems OFF with little depth. Try again. She's a cute model.

If possible, next time try to create some distance between your subject and the background.
