How many of you use CPL to ad contrast to colors and bring out detail in shadows?

Do any of you do that or do you use Circular Polarizers only to ad contrast and color to your sky and clouds when you shoot lanscape? I've seen people who use CPLs on their prime lenses and keep them on at all times for better shadow details and color.

Mostly when the vegetation is wet... or shooting lots of blue skies...

I use the CPL on evenly cloudy days whenever I'm photographing something that picks up a lot of white glare form the sky - this includes a lot more than wet vegetation.

Its great for auto shows as well.

Polarizing filters are the one effect that you can't add or subtract in Photoshop. This is often the only filter you need.

There is actually a polarizing plugin that comes with Nik filters, but the effect only deepens colors, it can't penetrate the water surface, for example. It's better than nothing for glare, however.

Yup, I use mine a lot for landscape photography (which is mostly what I do).

A CPL is the only filter I need

I use my CP all the time with Landscape shots. It's a must have and really makes a HUGE difference in the images. I sometime use it for more casual vacation shots if it's really hazy out; it helps a little.
