Just looking at the comments re the post for Apopka Fire Truck & someone wants more photos so here's mine. Shot in Feb while walking into town in Cozumel, and I have no idea what age it is or model etc. We were ducked into a storefront waiting for a light rain to end.

Thanks very much. It seems that they think it's dead & gone so I've added a link to my photo to prove otherwise. I only took 2 photos of it and I'm guessing that it had been used for a parade we missed due to the wrong time having been posted on the "official" web site I used.

Wow, can't say I have ever seen a 700 series with that much work, but still most of the original cab. Five Mile Point in the Binghamton area of New York had a 100' mid mount that had a complete rebuild in the late 80's. They replaced the whole cab with a century series. But man, it is 2009.

Again thanks for the help identifying it. Since then I have learned that it's still on the job doing what it was born to do, fight fires. This truck is part of the fleet in Cozumel, and none of the trucks are modern.

Definitely a southern ALF...any more shots of it?

Sorry, no. Next trip to Cozumel (I go at least yearly) I'll head to the fire hall & shoot anything on site. It was the first time I saw a fire truck on the island other than at the airport.

I knew it was an ALF, as soon as I saw the pic, but the cab cover was throwing me, as it doesn't look standard, but rather a later addition.

The volunteer department I belonged to for many years had a 1956/1983 ALF Ladder. This was originally an open cab that was closed during the 1983 rebuild. http://www.candorfire.org/Shell.html#veh_441 (external link)

If the link does not display an apparatus...click the button on the left that says 441.
