Hey all,

I'm wanting to do some highspeed photography. Example - Balloon popping. I want to catch just when the balloon is popped by something sharp. I have plenty of strobes, but I just can't seem to get the timing right. is there a trigger I can buy that can help out with this? What would you guys use for something like this?

thanks

Years ago I had the same interest and made a sound activated flash trigger. It was simple, but effective. A microphone was amplified and that signal triggered an electronic switch that had the sync cord in series with it. I used it to photography breaking light bulbs, bouncing balls, bullets out of gun barrels, stuff like that. Lots of fun. I suppose you can probably buy such things now, but I'm not sure. Here are a couple examples.

I'm sure there are more expensive ways to do this and know there is a guy in the B&W/Experimental forum that has a more professional setup - do a search in there and I'm sure you will find it.
