Hi everyone,

i recently upgraded to a New to me (used) 5D from my 40D. Now while i know the 5d is older and some of the features on the 5d are a little dated the image quality out of the camera is great. Here are some shots that i took. Some are candids and some i took of my girlfriend and her lil bro. All of these shots are taken with my Sigma 50 1.4

I think the portraits would have been better with your 85 f1.8 with more tighter headshots. Your girlfriend has a very nice face, it should fill the picture. #1, #2, and #3 have no photographic merit and they are OOF.

i think they turned out great, the color response in the 5d blows me away.

now on a personal note, im in the same boat, i just dont like the idea of the tiny screen.

you happy with your decision?

I didn't intend for these to be headshots but i do appreciate your comments. However, #'s 1, and 2 look in focus on my screen ( your right about 3, it does look a tad oof) and while they might not have much "photographic merit" they were intended to show the image quality of the 5D and the shallow depth of field with FF. Thanks for your critique even if i didn't ask for it.

Thanks. I do wish the screen was a little bigger but for the price of a used 5D and the "POP" straight out of camera i learn to deal with it. I just got the camera yesterday and so far i don't see it being much an issue.. the big screen on my 40D is more a luxury.

The 5D kicks serious ass. I like it better than my 1D Mark III, and I don't think there's a better camera out there than the 1D Mark III, and I like the screen on the 5D better too.

Anyway, nice shots. Watch your red channel though. Especially with the 5D.
