Surprised to see something other than a black bear in Yosemite last week. This bear was up near Mirror Lake. Will have to work some PS as the indignity of being Bear 6 is just not right. C&C always welcome.

Hi, Patrick!

What a gorgeous bear! Looks like a yearling (last year's cub), as the ears appear disproportionatly large.

I don't know why the Park Service feels the need to use such large, unsightly ear tags. Is it really that important for them to be able to identify the bear at a great distance? No, it isn't.
