I know that in the past two or three weeks I saw a posting, either here or on another forum, that illustrated how to locate where on the CCD a dust spot is when you see it in an image. I can't find that information. Do any of y'all have a link to it?

Alternatively, does anybody know for sure what the orientation of an image is on the CCD? What I need to find (and clean) is a spot that shows up in the lower left corner of an image. The spot is too small to see, and I need to know where on the CCD to concentrate the cleaning.

Many thanks in advance.....

Skip -

If the spot is showing up at the LOWER left corner of an image, your dust is on the UPPER left corner. The image is just vertically flipped.

Hope that helps.

Jeff, if you're point of reference is looking into the camera from its front, then you've verified what I was thinking.

I think the image is really upside down and reversed left-to-right if looking "through" the camera like you do when using a view camera, but never having used a view camera I am not positive.
