This is a photo of my daughter and I have been trying some pp work on them. I'm not sure if the pp is working or not. How is the color tone and WB ? Which photo is the best of the 3? I'd like opinions on the pp work and any suggestions on how I could improve the photos. Thank You!

WOW. She has a slight resemblance to the Olson twins.

The middle image is the best in terms of post processing.

Middle one, looks great, but I do like the reduced highlights of the one on the right. Difficult to choose.

yep agreed middle one is best.

Do you do a custom white balance?? If not I would suggest looking into doing that, it cuts out a huge part of PP work and streamlines it. 2 seconds before you take the picture cuts down on many minutes in post processing.

I'm very new to using a DLSR camera so I still have a ton to learn. I have read a lot about custom WB but I find it confusing. I don't have a WB card to create custom WB and if I did would I have to reset custom WB every time my daughter moved to another location in the living room or outside?

you should goggle making a target from a coffee filter. yes you would have to reset your CWB everytime the light changes, I would just suggest using it when you are doing pictures for a purpose. Also look into shooting in RAW that also helps with white balance.

Oh but I do want to say that your white balance isnt' bad at all in those photos, these are just some tips I've learned along the way.

Thank you. I do always shot in RAW, I just have a hard time telling if the skin and color tone looks good. I just don't know what good WB is.

Lovely little girl... I like the middle one best as well, though it was a close call between it and the one on the right... Thanks for sharing
