I have mentioned it actually and took the p*ss out of him yesterday and told him I'd put a big fat watermark right across the middle. He was actually apologetic about it.

I hope you made him buy you a drink as payment? :D

The first is my favourite.

When it comes to stealing images most people I know at work don't even realise it amounts to theft.

Scott and Sylvester did you notice any difference with HTP on. I had a play with it after reading in a magazine you should switch it on but I could not see any difference other than it affecting the iso settings.

That Sony I bought from Jessops is at £511 on ebay with four hours to go, at this rate it will go for more than it can be bought in a shop new:D:D

Adrian, i'm still at the "thinking about buying a 40D" stage. Not even held one yet.

Well done on the Sony mate, definitely worth queuing for!

I have not had the 40D than long but I took a few test shots and I did notice it did pull down a hot section of an image, compared to it being off, and did not influence the exposure of the rest of the frame.

What I am trying to find out is at which ISO the 40D has the most dynamic range. I tend to be at 100 as much as possible.

Victor I opened my posting to Europe and have had quite a bit of interest from there. I don't know how more postage will be but I would consider it if I were you.

I have been at Jacobs today trying out lenses but the 100-400 they had was slower to focus than the sigma which was a surprise. I think it might just be that lens, Chris' was very quick and I tried another one in Jessops and that seemed fine. Only just back to look at the pics

This is the canon at 400mm on a 100% crop

It's probally something that is not even worth considering. I am not convinced there is much difference between 100 and 200 ISO anyway lol

Maybe I should give HTP another go and do a test with scenes with more contrast

Adrian, that Sigma looks a lot softer than the Canon. No good it being quicker to focus, if it's still soft!?!

Are you still undecided which to go for?

I will go for the Canon, I think that particular canon has focussing problems as the one in Jessops was fine.

The Canon is very tactile and just feels right. I know alot of people debate the push and pull but it is so much easier that the twisting on the sigma as they cover such a range. I have just got to sweet talk jessops to pricematching Jacobs as there is a difference of £100. When in the shop they said they would certainly do something. I will have to get my 'Dominic from the one show' head on and see if they will throw in a filter as well

On my 1DmkIIN I did 'feel' that ISO 400 gave better dynamic range, although never formally tested it.

Have you checked with Kerso (Ian) what his price would be??? Many here at POTN have bought from him and without checking the actual figures I know I saved a significant amount when I bought my 24-105 IS

:)

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p
