Ha, gotta find someone who will have me first!

I cant see things with me and Anna getting serious enough for me to be worrying about it just yet.

This is for the early risers (sadists).

Going to make a journey to the coast today (Tuesday). Most likely going to head to Folkestone, for the decent sunny weather forecast for the afternoon.

All are welcome to join if you are free!

Looks like it will be me and Dan so far.

Warren & Rob, have a good one!

Looks like my Rollerderby pics have generated quite a bit of interest. 4gb worth of bandwidth shifted between 7pm to 3am. :)

Flickr is picking up more interest. Going to try and sort out the next two events making sure I am free but does step on the toes of RIAT which I did want to goto.

The shots you've posted in here were great Mitesh. Were you going for a cross-processed look on some of them? I noticed that video clip you posted had a similar effect, and was just wondering if that's particularly popular with the Roller Derby crowd?

Talking of Roller Derby.. What's it all about!?! Looks like fun, but i couldn't tell what the aim was. I know i should just google it, but the thought just came to me as i was typing.

Thanks. No I just processed them as they were. WB is the biggest pain, green walls, red curtains, yellow floors. WB is HELL. This was pretty much what I found worked. :)

As for the sport itself, you have two teams.

They each have a jammer and a group of blockers. The jammers job is to overlap the pack of blockers.

The pack of blocker’s pace is set by the lead blockers who have a striped cap on their helmet. The jammers start behind the blockers and have to make their way through. They then have to overlap them to claim the title of lead jammer. For each overlap of the pack is 1 point.

The lead jammer can call off the run at any time by placing their hands on their hips.

The blockers can barge, shoulder, cut up but not trip or punch the jammers to help block them. Penalties result in 1 minute per offence in the “sin bin”.

That is pretty much it from what I can remember. Worth going even just to spectate. Photos is even worse. So much to think about, settings wise etc. Real challenge but never shot footie etc so I cannot compare.

If only there was a 70-200 f/1.2 with SUPER USM.

Ah! I thought there had to be more to it.. It looked like they were just skating round trying to knock each other over.

It's a shame i haven't got anything between the 55 and 400 range, as it looks like a fun event to shoot. Never mind a 70-200 f/1.2 SUSM , i can't even afford a 70-200 2.8! :(

Put it this way, I rented the 200 1.8 and Kevin had the 300 2.8 but far too long. Maybe a few shots down the back end but the ref's get in the way.

If you want to come next time, I have the 85 1.8 which I didnt use.

I was shooting with a 5D and 135L all night with those results. 350D+85mm will be roughtly the same. Even the 50mm will be good for the corners. A 70-200 2.8 would be nice but I rather just stick to a prime I own and can work with.

200 1.8L was just too long, big and heavy to really capture anything at speed that close up.

Next event is in June then a 2 day tournament in July. Going to stock up on batteries and memory cards. 10gb worth was JUST about enough.
