Ah ok, that would make sense! Hopefully it nothing - got goosebumps when she was telling me i was going into Oncology!
Thanks for the Pm though :)

Thanks guys. Im sure im worrying over nothing :D

Thats exactly what 99.9% of people seem to do mate so you're not alone in the 'needless panic' department.
As Adrian said earlier, its most likely that you're being sent to oncology because thats the department best suited to getting a more detailed analysis of your bones rather than just a basic x-ray or something.
Anyway, fingers crossed for you if it makes you feel a bit better. ;)

Expect an assistant if you get in!! ;)

Well I only shoot a bit of village stuff so may not be the best person to talk to, although the theory is the same I guess. There are a few decent cricket shooters on here too that you could bother with questions. gsgary, gmen & butcha27 to name but 3.

Gavin (gmen) is my hero!
Heloped me out loads when I started doing (non motorsport) sports photo's

Lovely!!! Can't wait to see in used in anger :D

Thanks guys.

Elliott, I slapped the 35 on it, was closet to hand. Nothing nice to show yet, took the usual pics of the living room :-) and my foot! It has a different shutter sound to the xxD model, sounds sweet.

Anke, I don't want to use it in anger. Something is going to fall off or plop or blow a fuse!

It does have the latest firmware, 1.0.7, already on it so I guess I have one of the latest production ones which might have some extra sticky tape and blutack in it to keep the guts from spilling out!

Great excuse to go out and take all my favourite sites of London again. Might plan a route to retake all my evening shots and panos so I have even bigger ones :-)

Oh and I'll be redoing my London Eye zoom shot with the 5D :-)

A guy I work with knows Gavin pretty well through shooting local football.
Just a little fact I thought I'd throw in.

I'll do some research before,
I'm happy with the technical aspect, it's just the artisitic, i.e what 'makes a good cricket shot' and which angles are preferred.

Like polo & horse jumping, unless the horses ears are pricked up, the shots are not worth anything!

That would've been my next suggestion Ramesh.

It's like a cornucopia of sight, smell and sound! I want to get that "FF Fever". Need to take some decent shots first! :-)

Right, I'm going to do a bit of fiddling under the hood to get the settings as I want them.

Good stuff!

What shutter speeds do you find acceptable to freeze the bat/ball?
(might need faster for international!)

I was shooting upwards of 1/2000 on Sunday as the light was good, with an aperture of about f/4, spot metering from the whites. I was lazy with my composition though as I just parked my rear in a chair next to the scorer and didn't move much until I needed to pad up for my turn at the crease.
