I must admit to have not played under the hood of mine.
I just went out and shot!
I don't even know how to do video yet! to be fair not had a lot of time, if it's in my hand I want to use it, not read up!

That's cause you're confident! :-)

I had to get the focus button switched, was doing my head in :-) It's dreary and I'm working from home at the mo' so have to do something :-)

Have you got yours gripped? How many shots do you reckon on a single battery charge? I'm thinking if I need 2 more.

I read a thread here and some say 600-800 some say 2000! I bought the cam for wedding in a couple of months and will have it gripped by then. I might keep it a bit longer though ;-)a Enough for a full days shoot? I should get 2 more batts just in case?

Frickin' expensive though. Digital Rev have a 3rd party batt for the 5D MkII, apprently fully compatibile.

Thanks guys.

Great excuse to go out and take all my favourite sites of London again. Might plan a route to retake all my evening shots and panos so I have even bigger ones :-)

Oh and I'll be redoing my London Eye zoom shot with the 5D :-)

If you do got on a London trip be sure to post it as I would like to come along if I am not working. Have yet to do London by night

Ramesh, I'm pretty sure I've had around 1200 shots quite comfortably on a single charge. That most probably included a few little video clips as well.

No sense and unfortunately not enough money.

Lovely shots Scott. This one is definitely my favourite though. The only way I would say you could improve it is to have the daisies/horizon slightly higher up in the frame so it doesn't cut right across the middle.

I have only one battery and i have had over a thousand RAW shots on a single charge (Vic will testify to how trigger happy i get).
I may get a grip, but just for teh handling rather than the battery capacity.
I would say hold fire on batteries unless you intend to go away for days at a time without the ability to use a charger in the evenings.

We all go through stages like that though. I was like that at the recent London meet. Can't be creative all the time though. ;):p

As soon as I've fully recovered and can walk a fair distance with a tripod on my back then I'll probably plan a route. Won't be for a month or two though. Will keep you posted.

Will do the South bank from Tower bridge to Westminster. Piccadilly Circus and Traf. Sq and all that. I'll probably want to do it over a number of different days to get dusk shots of a lot of prime locations and summer time is best cause it is warmer in the evenings :-)
