12mm on FF is sooooo wide! A lot of fun though.

Bah! Blasphemy! I love it for car work.

It just depends how well you use it. Apart from on cars, I rarely use it but handy for just in cases when I run out of room.

I will definitely use primes - my 50 1.4 and 85 1.8 when i get it. I would also like to get some shots with the band and the crowd, taken from the pit for example.

I do like that example you put up - its the same image you photoshopped Tron stylee isn't it?

The 85mm is just wow. You should love it. :)

Yes, same picture. :)

Yes, apart from Port Lymphe this is the first real play I have had with it, really worked well. The extra reach really pays off as most of the pics are as shot. There were alot of 100-400s being used on the day.
I am planning to go to Biggin Hill Air show which is at the end of the month so this should be good practise. These old planes are nice and slow but there will be a lot more jets there so will have to be more on the ball.

Any old train fans?
(that's old trains not old tog's)

1938 tube stock train

Sunday 21st June 2009
Hendon Pageant - RAF Museum

The Museum's 1938 tube stock train is running from Edgware via the Kennington Loop to Colindale station. This is a non-stop trip of 80 minutes with the opportunity to visit the nearby RAF Museum for their pageant celebrations.

This is likely to be the last opportunity to travel on the Museum's 1938 tube stock on the Northern line before the line's signalling is modernised over the next couple of years.

Tickets must be booked in advance.

Book tickets for the 11.00 run now »

Book tickets for for the 14.00 run now»

Tickets can also be booked by telephone on 020 7565 7298.

Tickets are priced at £20 per person. Journey times are 11.00 & 14.00 from Edgware station. These times may vary, but final times will be on your ticket.

You will also have the opportunity to visit the nearby RAF Museum for their Hendon Pageant celebrations. The Hendon Pageant takes the theme of Summer of 44 -The Flight Path to Liberty. There will be a chance to meet re-enactors and view military vehicles, fire engines and ambulances from the period. Special tours, talks and interactive workshops will also be taking place. Learn First Aid 1940s style courtesy of St. John Ambulance, enjoy rousing music and swinging beats with our 1940s concerts, meet the Land Girls, Air Raid Wardens and members of the Service and learn what a normal day was like for these individuals in 1944.

Cheers. I think I have nailed the processing now I have a calibrated screen (Thanks Lawrence).

Just worried about next month if I get a toggers spot. I know all the WB issues where we shot. Going to have to learn it all at Earls Court. Shouldnt be that hard.

Still wish I could rent a 1D III. :( Maybe in a few months Ill have one. :)

Neal txt'd me the other night and said I missed a streaker! I'm not sure I would have used the word missed, but he did mention you got a "full frontal" shot. Lets see it! (mosaic blurs in all the appropriate places of course ;))

Haven't had a chance to go through mine yet, but will do tonight. Didn't take nearly as many as I usually do at these events, mainly down to the fact that I was there with the gf and didn't want to abandon her to move up with you guys :)

Rich,
Great photos, I went to Biggin Hill last year and really enjoyed it, was my first airshow. Can't remember whether or not it is the Saturday or Sunday I going this year but will let you know. I meant to be working and taken the day off but I cannot remember which.

I'm still really keen for the Biggin Hill air show -do you know if you need advance tickets or can you buy on the day?
