What method did you use as I know mine need doing. Hope it's not too involved, I'm such a lazy b***ard

I used a Panatone Huey. A little stick which calibrates constantly so its a god send.

To calibrate the screen, you place it in its holder, let it measure ambient light. Then you put it on the screen and let it work.

Then just keep it plugged in as you process in its holder. Its about £60 and works like a dream.

I'm looking at doing Flying Legends at Duxford and one of the Days in the week on the run up to RIAT. When is Biggin Hill?

Photographing the Katy Perry concert at Shep Bush Empire on Weds night, hope we get a few songs and not just 1. Haven't shot there before.

Thanks for that. Another thing to add to the shopping list :(

Does it keep adjusting the screen output depending on ambient light then? For example if you turn the lights on?

I'm still really keen for the Biggin Hill air show -do you know if you need advance tickets or can you buy on the day?

You can buy them on the day, with our lovely weather I think I will leave it to the day. It isn't cheap and it will be very disapointing if it rains.

They were really lucky yesterday as it was a great day weather compared to the forecast.

Link for Biggin Hill is here (external link) it is on 27th and 28th June

Yes pretty much. It constantly calibrates as you go along so its perfect for me.

It works well on glossy screens and matt so I think it does wonders. Possibly not as good as the Spyders but they cost quite a bit more.

Teshi I wasn't saying it is too wide just that it is very wide! Glad I picked one up secondhand for a reasonable price.
I love that shot of the M3!

Anyone have any good suggestions for some photography books to read? Any suggestions from quite basic stuff to something a little more challenging are welcome.

I recently bought two Michael freeman books "the photographers eye" and "perfect exposure". Very good books as he doesnt dumb it down, but gives very good explanations to technical aspects.

I might get a couple more of his books about B&W photography etc as i really like his style. Lots of people reccomend the Scott Kelby books, but his jokey, dumbed down style really pisses me off lol

I know. I know. :) Its insanely wide on a full framer. Which is ace. That e46 shot is one of my most prized. One of my first rigging attempts also.

I think it is an amazing shot, whoever owns the car should have a very large print on their wall.

Yes. lol.

Does anyone know how I should respond to this?

I was a professional press photographer for 18 years and picture Ed for 4 so I look at pics as if still at work. I wondered if you were there for the action or the ambiance, your action pics were a bit off and the newish set of personality pics were not as good as the first. Have you ever been told how to photograph action?

I feel a bit offended but its true, not really had any prior experience on action.

I would try and be polite and say as you have said you have had no training and there for the fun of it and work out why the bloke has contacted you. It sounds as if he may have an ulterior motive...which you never know where it might lead.

Take it as constructive, and ask him to tell you how to take action????
