Cheers Chris, I'm not sure I like shooting the parents too, I think I prefer shooting just the kids tbh ..

Good job Matt. I imagine it's much harder to compose with multilple subjects, i wouldn't know where to begin!?! Although i'm slowly getting interested in portraiture... Maybe one day. :D

Well done Neal, that's a cracking shot mate. ;)

I think the black and white one is much better, there are more highlights in the second one and her expression in the second one is not very warming, looks slightly trans like.

C&C welcome

I think there needs to be more contrast in the face for the B&W one - the almost single tone doesn't give much interest due to the lack of shadows. The second shot has allot more depth to it, but its still a shame about the blow highlight in the hair - i assume that's because you had to meter for the dark interior though.

I dont know hwy, but the first one almost looks like a still from a film?

Neal, meetup looks good but unfort can't make it - hope we can do another strobist meet in July, I'll be back from Spain and free to arrange/join a meet if anyone is up for that.

Any guesses for tonight's final scoreline? I'm gonna go for 5-0, perhaps we can net another two in twenty :D

Neal congratulations, I am going to have to ask you where you were when you took that picture, being very cheeky I want to replicate the one with the sun rising for a competition.
