After getting used in two magazines this week, and now going to grace the cover of one :)
Just a local freebie mag, but cool all the same :)

The 2880 is the daddy, especially for B&W prints - but for £600-ish i would hope that you are planning to print ALLOT. When you look at the price of consumables + printer, Lab prints become very very good value.

Good point. Though I do have several years worth of photos I'd like to print out at some point or another. Plus, the 2880 does panorama prints and I do love to do those...

[edit] - here's a question. Can I use one of these fancy photo printers to print normal documents as well? Like something from word or a pdf? I can't see why not, but you never know :)

Id be weary of Epsom however,

Had 4 products die aged 12 1/2 months.

I vowed I'd never buy one of their scanners or printers again

I've never really owned a scanner/printer before (unless you count the ones I owned 10+ years ago for college work etc), but the epsom stuff seems to come higly rated.

That sucks!

never had a problem with epson myself -still using a 1650 perfection scanner that i bought in 2001 and it still going strong. It has a film scanner in the lid that i never thought would be useful, but 8 years later i have finally started developing my own film so its VERY useful now!

Not me, that's for sure. I've had three pictures printed in local magazines lately. Sold another one to a national travel mag too. Quite a successful week.

Managed to get holiday snaps down to 154. Won't bore you with them all of course, but will place some nice ones, and the funny ones too, once uploaded :)

The national mag one was through Alamy, yes. It pushed me over the limit they set before they pay out, so will finally get to see some cash.
